Im just wondering if there’s a laptop out there with the screen size of 15 – 17inches with windows xp home as the os and a processor and operating performance to still be good for the next few years.

To be more specific, processing in the region of 1.5ghz and over and can handle up to 2gb of ddr ram max.

And is there any such laptop like this with xp home and a 15 inch or over screen.

    And one more thing.

Are there any intel atom based laptops that aren’t netbooks but proper notebooks also with xp home?

Any info regarding this will be much appreciated

    Thanks

no, only used laptop or the small netbook come with windows xp nowadays. We barely got to the 1 gb of ram when vista came out. You might have to buy a windows vista/ macbook/ or ubuntu laptop laptop and then install windows xp on it.

By the way, system76 is a manufacturer I can think of offhand that selling ubuntu laptops that are not netbooks.

BTW, one the major differences that define a netbook over a notebook is that fact that it has a intel atom or similar processor.

Here are links to 2 good laptop manufacturers, you might be surprised to find that those specs you listed were actually low quality. If you want something cheaper/lower end, go with any mainstream manufacturer. If you really want something that will be good for 3+ Years, I would spend the money on these.
