Under $600I like the samsung nc-10 and nc-20 but if there are some with internal drives, i would buy that.

Currently there are none with CD drives in them. You have to buy an external one.

Mini-laptops, or netbooks, are different from Notebooks because they are intended to be “large” or oversize Blackberries. The vast majority have a wireless connection to communicate with other people or computers. If you need an optical drive [only DVD, no longer CD] because say, you want to watch a movie or you want to listen to a CD, then you first have to download the material through the wireless connection onto the hard-drive of the netbook before you can enjoy it. If it is imperative to have an optical drive, then you should move up onto a Notebook where that drive is incorporated in it.
