i’m a sophomore in college and looking to invest in a good laptop. i need something that is pretty portable, a little bit more lightweight to carry from class to class but something that functions well and can hopefully last me into grad school. i don’t store a ton of movies or anything, but i would like enough room on it to be able to store part of my music collection and school files like power points and word documents.

i’m so overwhelmed by all of the choices out there. i saw this neat HP in one of my lecture classes, it converts from a normal laptop to a notepad type of computer. should i go for one of those? i think the netbooks are great, but i don’t want to strain my eyes and i don’t want to purchase two separate laptops. i need one that can store everything i need but that isn’t too heavy to carry to class or the library. any and all suggestions are appreciated! i’m open to macs, pcs, whatever you have found that works well and is durable.
